Fostering in Essex, London and Peterborough

We need foster carers in the East of England

St Christopher’s Eastern Region fostering team work with foster carers and children across Essex, Peterborough and London. Our team are small and friendly, so you will always know who you are talking to when you call us or drop in for a chat.

Each year we throw an achievement awards ceremony, where we celebrate the successes of our children and foster carers over the last 12 months. These events are a brilliant way of seeing just how far young people have come thanks to the dedication of their foster carer.

We know that fostering is more than just a job, but we also know it’s important that you have opportunities to develop and learn. That’s why training is continuous throughout your time as a foster carer. In the past we have supported foster carers through training courses led by world-leading universities, which really sets us apart from other agencies.

Find out why you should choose St Christopher’s as your fostering agency.

Fostering in Essex

Essex is the base for our foster carers across the Eastern Region, with training sessions and support groups all taking place in our Chelmsford office.

The fact that St Christopher’s is a charity was the main pull for me. We care who we foster with because despite appearing to be the same there is a clear distinction between agencies – charities have no motive to make profit or pay shareholders. Instead they can focus on providing excellent services.

Fostering in Peterborough

Our growing fostering community in Peterborough enjoy days out together and attend events to spread the word about how to become a foster carer.

We hadn’t met any foster carers before so everything was a bit unknown, but we went into it very openly and chatted with carers at Skills to Foster training about their experiences. Since becoming a carer people have approached me saying they’re thinking of fostering. I always make sure they know there will be challenges, but it’s also really rewarding.
